role. Pinemar is a team of builders and craftspeople dedicated to creating extraordinary, architecturally unique custom homes and large‑scale renovations.
The Assistant Project Manager works as an integral part of the project team alongside the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Project Executive to ensure projects are built according to the highest quality standards. Your work includes developing a detailed understanding of project scope and budget, managing information flow and project documentation, coordinating trade partners, helping manage project schedule, and maintaining quality control.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the Architect and Design Partners, and Pinemar's Estimating team, on developing proposals for new projects, bid packages, and coordinating with trade partners and material suppliers during the pre‑construction phase.
Review architectural and consultant plans to evaluate constructability and proactively identify coordination issues.
Assist in developing preliminary project schedules.
Assist with trade partner contract/commitment buyout.
Evaluate plans and changes to ensure information is properly coordinated throughout the project lifecycle.
Proactively problem‑solve plan deficiencies to maintain the production schedule.
Develop architectural and construction details to support the field teams.
Manage project documentation including drawing updates, sketches, and bulletins to keep an up‑to‑date record set from preconstruction through project closeout and warranty.
Prepare submittals, work with trade partners and project coordinators, assist with RFIs, and prepare analysis and documentation to support change orders.
Work with PM & Superintendent to develop meeting agendas, take notes during meetings, and issue meeting minutes.
Distribute relevant documents to subcontractors and stakeholders.
Monitor subcontractor performance against the project scope, schedule, and budget.
Track project expenditures against the budget and identify areas for cost savings.
Prepare cost reports and analyze variances.
Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, and client/owner representatives to isolate project problems and develop solutions.
Assist in developing and maintaining the project schedule using scheduling software.
What You'll Need To Be Successful
Undergraduate and/or Graduate Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering.
3+ years of custom residential project management or commercial project management.
Strong working understanding of methods, materials, and processes specific to high‑end residential construction, and construction sequencing for complex residential renovations and new builds.
Strong organizational skills, ability to juggle multiple competing priorities, and manage time effectively.
Strong problem‑solving skills, curiosity, and the ability to learn new skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit, and AutoCAD. Familiarity with Procore, SketchUp, and rendering software is a plus.
