Primary Function of Organizational Unit North Carolina Cooperative Extension gives our residents особ access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T State University. Through educational programs, publications, and events, Cooperative Extension field faculty deliver unbiased, research‑based information to North Carolina citizens.

Duties and Responsibilities Program Coordination & Support

Coordinates speakers and presenters for upcoming 4‑H and Master Gardener programs.

Identify and reach out to topic experts to schedule educational programs and events.

Assist with planning, setup, delivery, and მამ‑follow‑up of programs for youth and adults.

Support both classroom‑based and hands‑on learning experiences, including outdoor and field‑based รอง.

Administrative & Data Management

Enter and maintain accurate program data in NCSU Extension databases.

Complete monthly program reporting and assist with documentation required for Extension accountability.

Follow all NCSU Extension and county financial, administrative, and reporting policies.

Communication & Technology

Use computer applications including Microsoft Office and Zoom to support daily operations. This includes knowledge of email etiquette, Poweriverse and Excel.

Assist with program promotion through social media and other communication platforms.

Provide courteous and professional communication with volunteers, partners, program participants, and the public.

Outreach & Community Engagement

Establish and déclaré it positive working relationships with individuals and organizations throughout Pender County, including people of all income levels, ethnicities, and communities.

Represent Extension in a respectful, inclusive, and.goto professional manner at programs and events.

Assist with volunteer and participant engagement for both youth and adult programs.

Other Work / Responsibilities The 4‑H Program Assistant/Master Gardener Program Assistant provides programmatic, administrative, and outreach support to Extension programming serving youth and adults across Pender County. This position supports both the 4‑H Youth Development Program and the Extension Master Gardener Program by coordinating education programs, managing data and reports, and assisting with communication and outreach. This assistant works under the supervision of the 4‑H Agent and the Consumer Horticulture Agent.

Education & Experience Minimum : High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred : Associate's Degree or higher. Demonstrated interest in continuing education or professional growth is strongly encouraged.

Travel within county frequently, and in the district and state occasionally are required.

Minimum Experience/Education: The minimum requirement for employment with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension is a high‑school diploma or equivalent. Advanced training in related fields is preferred.

Department Required Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required. Organizational ability and time management أعلنت required. Basic computer literacy and familiarity with email protocols are necessary.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education: Youth development education is a plus. Experience providing instruction to youth is desirable. Strong desire to enrich the lives of youth.

Required License or Certification: Valid Driver's License and reliable, personal transportation required and must be maintained. Valid North Carolina driver's license is required within 60 days of hire.
