General Trades Technician

Responsibilities This position works as part of the facilities department and is responsible for providing maintenance and repairs to electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems and devices, as well as general maintenance and repairs.
Performs a variety of work to maintain all buildings on campus such as pressure washing, painting, inspecting buildings/equipment to ensure good and safe operating conditions.
Performs routine servicing of mechanical and plumbing systems as part of the preventative maintenance program. Troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces mechanical and plumbing systems/devices.
Assists staff on installing and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment/devices. Provides electrical support for special events.
Provides basic support to Ringling ITS staff with installation and telecommunication devices repair.
Generates and responds to emails and work orders via online work order system. Updates work order system once per day regarding progress and/or upon completion of assignment.
Assists with emergency and/or special facilities maintenance projects as needed. Remains on‑call during designated periods outside normal working hours as needed.
While on‑call, the incumbent may be required to return to the work site to respond to maintenance emergencies. Performs other duties and assists with special events as assigned.
Must be able to obtain a lift certification and be physically able and willing to operate an aerial lift and forklift.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency and two years experience or a combination of post‑high school education and experience equal to two years.
Valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
Ability to climb ladders and lift and move objects up to 50 lb.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in light plumbing, painting, lighting replacement, and carpentry.
Working knowledge of pumps and motors.
Ability to perform general building maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.

Anticipated Salary Range Starts at $33,408 + annually based on selected candidate's education, skills, and experience.
