Senior Maintenance Technician – Niagara Bottling Location: Dallas, TX

Salary: $69,900.00 – $117,000.00 (annual)

Niagara Bottling is searching for a Sr. Maintenance Technician to help keep our high‑speed bottle manufacturing plant running efficiently. The role focuses on engineering, troubleshooting, and training across multiple production equipment lines.

Responsibilities

Ensure equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair of all equipment failures.

Share knowledge of all production equipment with the maintenance team and operators.

Act as subject matter expert on at least one of the following equipment areas: injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers.

Perform troubleshooting and repair of auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis, other water filtration equipment, and general plant maintenance.

Work directly with maintenance technicians, machine operators, supervisors, and managers to resolve mechanical issues.

Develop and implement best practices aligned with Niagara’s maintenance strategies.

Champion continuous improvement efforts using preventative and predictive maintenance processes and assist with training in designated focus areas.

Essential Functions

Adhere to and enforce highest standards in safety and GMP plant‑wide.

Train and lead operators, mechanics, and supervisors on technical procedures.

Collaborate with plant leadership on continuous improvement, upgrades, and recurring problem resolution projects.

Rapidly identify machine problems, conduct root cause analysis, and prevent re‑occurrence.

Partner with other senior maintenance technicians to resolve cross‑functional problems.

Use software systems to analyze and identify issues to drive throughput performance.

Define requirements and lead overhaul efforts to rebuild equipment during planned downtime.

Transfer knowledge to Niagara team members to develop operating and troubleshooting procedures in the following areas:

Blow molding, PET processing, machine setup, mold changes, quality inspection systems.

Filling/capping, beverage processing, cap feeding systems, vision inspections, laser date coders, quality/sanitation standards, conveying systems.

Labeling technology – roll‑fed and/or cut and stack, machine setup, hot melt gluing, conveying systems.

Dry‑end packaging – case packers, case conveyors, conventional and robotic palletizers, stretch wrappers.

Injection technology – Husky injection molding machines (hydraulic, pneumatic, electromechanical), auxiliary systems, mold systems, component wear, plastic processing at high speeds.

Create SOPs, upload to BDA system; responsible for machine reliability and mean time between failure.

Attend regularly and maintain on‑call availability to ensure equipment/facility uptime.

Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Will need own toolbox and basic tools.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

6 years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.

6 years of experience in a similar position.

4 years of experience managing people/projects.

Preferred Qualifications :

10+ years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.

10+ years in a similar position.

6 years of experience managing people/projects.

4 years of experience in blow molding, injection molding, packaging, or beverage.

4 years with Krones, Husky, Sidel, or other packaging/bottling equipment.

1 year of experience leading and developing others on equipment repair.

2 years of experience creating process improvements or continuous improvement initiatives.

Fabrication skills: cutting, welding (MIG, TIG, stick).

Electrical systems: 480VAC & 24VDC power, variable frequency drives, servo motors and controllers, communication systems, PLC input/output cards, safety modules.

Experience may include a combination of work experience and education.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.

Skilled in shop equipment: hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill, lathe, and assorted power tools.

Proficient with precision measuring equipment: calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, depth gauges.

Willingness to serve as a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of the plant or machine center.

Education

Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred: Associate's Degree in manufacturing technology, mechatronics, industrial manufacturing, automation, or related field.
