About the Role

The Company is in search of an Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Director of Financial Aid. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader responsible for the administration of financial aid programs, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and providing exemplary customer service to students and their families. This role involves supervising a large team, collaborating with various university and state officials, and leading initiatives to enhance financial aid awareness and accessibility, particularly for underrepresented and disadvantaged student populations. The AVP/DFA will also be involved in the development and implementation of financial aid policies, and procedures, and will serve as a key member of the Enrollment Management Leadership team, contributing to the achievement of annual enrollment goals.

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and a proven track record of 5-7 years in financial aid administration, with a focus on leadership and compliance. Essential skills include expert knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs, exceptional leadership and strategic planning abilities, and a commitment to inclusive best practices. The role requires proficiency in financial aid management systems, strong communication skills, and the ability to mentor and empower a dedicated staff. Experience in a public university setting and familiarity with state-specific aid programs, particularly within the Commonwealth of Virginia, is desired. The ideal candidate will also have a background in financial aid modeling and be adept at using data to support decision-making and enhance student outcomes.
