About the Role
The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Associate General Counsel - Transactions, Reinsurance to join their legal team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Legal Officer, providing expert legal counsel on a wide range of corporate, transactional, and contentious matters. This senior role involves leading and managing the legal team, as well as overseeing the resolution of legal issues and the negotiation of significant agreements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in corporate governance, be a strong leader, and have the ability to manage outside counsel effectively.
Applicants must have 10-15 years' of legal experience, with a preference for a blend of law firm and corporate in-house experience. A deep understanding of commercial property and casualty business, particularly in the insurance industry, is essential. The role requires excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to manage and develop a legal team. The candidate should be solutions-oriented, with strong project management skills, and the ability to maintain trusted advisor relationships. A Bachelor's degree with a JD and admission to the bar is required, and expertise in securities law is a plus. The successful candidate will be a proactive, strategic thinker, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate legal risks.
