The role involves managing mostly a self-contained classroom supported by an instructional assistant, providing specialized instruction to a caseload of approximately 16 students. Students will attend electives outside the classroom, allowing for focused, tailored support during core academic periods. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized instruction based on students IEPs Manage and support a self-contained classroom environment Collaborate with an instructional assistant for effective classroom management Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly Facilitate student access to electives and coordinate schedules as needed Maintain communication with families and school staff regarding student development Qualifications and Experience: Valid special education teaching certification Experience working with middle school students, especially those with mild functional skill challenges Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Strong organizational and communication skills Understanding of IEP development and implementation Location: This position is based in Fishers, Indiana at a middle school.
