This contract position seeks an experienced special education teacher to provide tailored instruction for 11th and 12th grade high school students. The role focuses on delivering engaging English Language Arts (ELA) and college seminar classes to a manageable caseload of 8-10 students. The position is located in Des Plaines, IL, and runs from ASAP through June 6th. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction in ELA and college seminar to 11th and 12th graders with diverse learning needs Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and modify curriculum to accommodate students' abilities Collaborate with support staff and families to promote student success Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Manage a caseload of approximately 8-10 students, providing personalized attention and support Qualifications and Experience: Valid teaching certification in special education Strong background in high school-level ELA instruction, particularly for grades 11 and 12 Experience working with students requiring special education services Ability to design and implement effective lesson plans aligned with students' IEP goals Excellent communication and organizational skills Work Details: Location: Des Plaines, Illinois Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:25 AM to 3:30 PM Contract duration: Through June 6th Work setting: High school classroom, case load of 8-10 students This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic journey by supporting their development in both core subject matter and college readiness.
