This opportunity is for Special Education Teachers to work within a collaborative co-op supporting students across K-12 settings in the Chicago area. Contracts are available for the current school year, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in specialized classrooms designed for diverse learners with varying needs. Open positions include: Elementary STAR Autism-based classrooms serving elementary and intermediate students Middle School STAR Autism classrooms focused on tailored supports Multi-Needs High School classrooms for students with severe to profound disabilities requiring more intensive staffing and instructional assistance CONNECT classrooms for transition-aged students (18-22 years old) preparing for life beyond school Ideal candidates hold valid ISBE Professional Educator Licenses (PEL) in Special Education and have experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders or multiple disabilities. Flexibility, patience, and the ability to engage students with diverse learning profiles are essential. Key Qualifications: ISBE PEL license in Special Education (documentation required) Experience in STAR or Multi-Needs programs preferred Skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Commitment to student-centered, inclusive educational practices Responsibilities include delivering specialized instruction, collaborating with co-op staff and families, and monitoring student progress to adapt teaching strategies.
