Located in Shiprock, NM, this opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) supports K-12 schools in a contract role lasting through the end of May 2026. Serving as the onsite Lead Nurse, this position oversees health aides and provides essential health services to students and staff across multiple school sites. Key Responsibilities: Act as Lead Nurse, managing and guiding health aides on campus Provide first aid and basic health care support for students and staff Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to directions Support students with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy Maintain accurate documentation including health office visits, medication administration logs, and immunization records Assist with student health screenings and contribute to IEP/504 plan support Respond promptly and effectively to health emergencies Collaborate closely with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure student well-being Travel between 23 schools to provide consistent care Qualifications: Current RN licensure CPR/AED certification Strong communication and organizational skills Experience in school nursing or pediatric health preferred Ability to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance Willingness and ability to travel between assigned schools Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual capabilities in English and Navajo (Din) Familiarity with IEPs and individualized student care plans Knowledge of school health regulations and FERPA compliance Working 37.5 hours per week onsite, this role is designed for a compassionate nursing professional ready to take leadership in school health services and make a positive impact on student health and safety. xsgimln Qualified candidates who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply promptly for consideration.
