A Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to serve as the Lead Nurse supporting multiple K-12 schools in Fruitland, NM, through a contracted school year assignment. This critical onsite role involves overseeing health aides, providing direct healthcare services, and collaborating closely with school staff and families to ensure student well-being. Key responsibilities include: Acting as Lead Nurse and supervising health aides on campus Administering first aid, prescribed medications, and treatments Supporting students with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy Maintaining accurate documentation including health office visits, medication logs, and immunization records Assisting with student health screenings and contributing to IEP/504 plan support Responding promptly and effectively to health emergencies Collaborating with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to promote a healthy school environment Traveling between 23 school sites as scheduled Qualifications and desired experience: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with CPR/AED certification Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to remain calm in emergencies Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred Ability to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance Bilingual skills in English and Navajo (Din) are preferred Familiarity with IEP processes, school health regulations, and student privacy laws (FERPA) This position requires an onsite commitment with a standard 37.5-hour workweek through May 29, 2026.
