Registered Nurse (RN) School Health Services Location: Waterflow, NM (Onsite) Contract Duration: Current School Year (ASAP May 29, 2026) Work Hours: 37.5 hours/week Positions Available: 2 This opportunity involves providing comprehensive nursing care across 23 K-12 schools in the Waterflow area, offering vital health services to students and staff. The RN will serve as the Lead Nurse, overseeing health aides and ensuring a safe and healthy environment within the school setting. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise health aides on campus to ensure quality care delivery Administer first aid, basic health treatments, and prescribed medications per guidelines Provide support to students with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy Maintain accurate health office documentation, including medication logs and immunization records Assist in conducting student health screenings and support IEP/504 plan health-related services Respond promptly and effectively to health emergencies and incidents Collaborate with school personnel, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care Qualifications and Experience: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with experience in school nursing preferred Current CPR/AED certification required Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills essential Ability to travel between multiple school sites during the workday Experience working with children or in a school environment highly desirable Successful completion of background check and fingerprint clearance mandated Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual proficiency in English and Navajo (Din) Familiarity with IEPs and individualized health care plans Knowledge of school health regulations and FERPA guidelines This role offers the chance to positively impact student health within a dynamic educational setting.
