Recreation Program Leader – Y2WK Athletics (15‑17 Years Old) Overview Summer mentor position with the Athletic Division. The employee works directly with athletics staff, officials, coaches, and participants in league and camp settings, learning skills necessary to officiate and manage athletic activities.

Responsibilities

Gain knowledge of permit processing.

Learn to become a Certified OHSAA Official.

Assist with league scheduling, field maintenance, and sports management.

Complete required service training such as concussion training, CPR, and the Safety Law.

Assist with opening, closing, and maintenance checklists as required.

Apply recreation activities either directly or through assistance to program planners.

Support planning and promotion of athletic programs such as Esports, Community Golf, Camps for Champions, Soccer United, and Ref n Ready.

Minimum Qualifications (KSAs)

Age 14‑18 with City residency and household income guidelines.

Valid work permit for 14‑15 years old or parental consent for 16‑17 years old.

Complete 20‑hour orientation/training session.

Required Education and Experience None, except where required by employer.

Working Conditions Varies depending on assignment.
