Roles and Responsibilities
Greets customers according to departmental standards.
Greets all customers and takes beverage orders and guides guests through the food/beverage ordering process in an efficient, courteous and professional manner.
Accepts tender(s) in accordance with departmental standards for meal and beverage purchases in Starbucks.
Handles and solves any concerns and questions from customers.
Understands that both internal and external customers are to be treated with the same regard.
Knowledgeable of food and beverage products being offered in the venue.
Prepares hot and cold food orders, including sandwiches.
Prepares hot and cold beverages.
Must maintain the cleanliness of designated areas in accordance with established health and safety standards.
Performs cash handling tasks, as required and in accordance with the cash handling procedures.
Operates and maintains equipment in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
Performs all side work and stocking of supplies in accordance with venue standards.
Celebrates wins with players/guests.
Alerts the appropriate team members when there are technical problems.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Suggests products, services and experiences to guests.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous cash handling and P.O.S. register experience.
Must pass a drug test.
Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Must be willing to participate in on‑going training in the food and beverage field.
Maintain knowledge of current property events, promotions and attractions.
Must have outgoing personality and be able to generate business.
Must be able to work independently, with little supervision.
Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Superior communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently.
Must present a well‑groomed appearance.
Must adhere to uniform/appearance requirements.
Computer skills including operating hardware, software, and other technical equipment.
Ability to appreciate and be friendly with all Harrah’s Gulf Coast team members who are of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Able to accept direction of Senior Leadership.
Able to read, write and speak English sufficiently to perform job.
Available to work any shift, holidays and weekends.
Ability to tolerate cigarette/cigar smoke and e‑cigarette vapor.
Ability to tolerate the smell and residue of cleaning products used in work and back of house areas.
Responds to visual and aural cues.
Must be able to work inside and maneuver throughout assigned station during entire shift.
Must be able to respond calmly and politely, and handle many customer/team member demands in a fast paced environment.
Must have manual dexterity to be able to operate the following equipment: computer, telephone, photocopy machine, fax machine, ten key, embosser, printer, and bar encoder.
Must possess the manual dexterity to complete required “side work”.
Must be able to operate the following equipment: ice machine, oven/food warmer, can openers, coffee machine, coffee grinder, espresso machines, blenders, microwave oven and knife.
Must have excellent mathematical skills.
Able to tolerate a loud and noisy environment.
Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Able to sit, stoop, reach and bend.
Able to lift 50 pounds.
