Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consulting firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV. The firm seeks a civil engineer with a technical focus on structural engineering and/or site (civil) design for substations and power delivery facilities.
Responsibilities
Structural engineering responsibilities: develop design criteria, design standard shape steel structures, tubular steel structures, fire walls, foundations (drilled pier, shallow/pad, spread footing). Apply design tools such as Visual Analysis, STAAD.Pro, RISA, LPILE, MFAD, and CAISSON.
Site (civil) engineering responsibilities: development of design criteria, grading & drainage design, access road design, retaining/perimeter walls, fences, gates, storm‑water drawings, hydrology study specification and interpretation. Preferred use of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Project‑management functions (as required): scoping, budgeting, scheduling, team leadership, monitoring & control, client interface, project reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organization and planning, team orientation, commitment to quality, accuracy and fast‑paced schedules.
Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and design tools.
PE license preferred.
