Position Overview
Beltway Companies, the largest commercial truck dealership in Maryland, seeks a Full‑Time Heavy Duty Parts Specialist to join our Baltimore team. This role supports daily operations by identifying, sourcing, and selling heavy‑duty truck parts, assisting walk‑in and phone customers, and ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented, team‑focused professional with strong organizational skills, a fast‑paced work style, and experience with truck or automotive parts. Over time, the role may evolve into a department leadership position with opportunities to oversee the Baltimore parts department and contribute to broader strategic goals such as process improvement, inventory optimization, and customer experience enhancements.
Responsibilities
Establish individual parts inventory levels and balance them for maximum turnover.
Work with the service manager and body shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
Analyze departmental operations and storage layout, revising as needed for maximum effectiveness.
Maintain a high level of service to high‑priority target and fleet customers by going on site when needed to identify parts.
Provide technical assistance to parts department employees.
Develop sales promotions.
Provide parts to customers from stock, procure locally, or create a parts order as directed.
Maintain inventory control, including bin checks and corrections, as directed by the Parts Manager.
Assist other branches when short‑staffed.
Provide remote support to multiple branches.
Requirements
5+ years of parts and inventory management preferred.
5–10+ years of retail sales experience preferred.
Previous experience in truck parts, automotive parts, or a service shop environment is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Procure or another data management system.
Strong communication skills for working effectively with internal teams.
Valid driver’s license required.
