Patient Care Tech/PCT – Mother Baby (Full-Time / Nights)

Texas Health Rockwall - 3150 Horizon Rd, Rockwall, TX 75032
Work hours:
Full-Time, Nights, 36 hours weekly (3 12‑hour shifts, 7:00 pm–7:00 am)
Training:
Must attend training at the corporate office in Arlington Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm during the first week of hire

Here’s What You Need
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1 year of experience as a Women's/Infants PCT preferred
Prior experience in L&D or postpartum preferred
PCT Training Program: TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program (not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire; required upon hire or and …)
EMT – Emergency Medical Technician – Military experience with medical training equivalent (equivalent to EMT‑B) required upon hire or
Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire or
1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification required upon hire
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90 days of hire and maintained annually
Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast‑paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills
Nursing students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position
After hire PCT CNA renewal is not a requirement of the role if the PCT has consistently demonstrated skills in their position
What You Will Do CARE OF PATIENT/TECHNICAL SKILLS
Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care
Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse
Assists in admission/transfer/discharge
PARTNERSHIP
Uses Professional Practice Model philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers and all other disciplines
Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in schedule and/or workload assignment necessary to meet changing needs of the individual patient or unit
WORKPLACE/PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Maintains and enhances patient care skills
QUALITY AND SAFETY
Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve them
