American College of Radiology (ACR) , ensuring excellence in staff qualifications, image quality, safety protocols, and quality assurance. Every screening exam is interpreted by a
board‑certified radiologist , providing patients with timely and accurate diagnoses for faster treatment and recovery.
The
Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse
provides patient care in settings where patients typically receive treatment and return home the same day or in post‑acute transitional care environments. This role focuses on promoting wellness, restoring health, and supporting patients through situational health challenges or end‑of‑life care.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize specialized ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence‑based practices to develop individualized care plans.
Assess patient needs and deliver care appropriate to age and condition.
Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, and document patient care, including assessments, education, medication administration, and treatments.
Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment.
Prioritize patient care in accordance with Evidence‑Based Practice Standards of Care.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient conditions and unit concerns.
Maintain a safe, caring environment for patients and families.
Integrate patient and family education throughout care delivery.
Participate in process improvement activities and adhere to regulatory and accrediting standards.
Serve as a patient advocate and promote diversity and respect in all interactions.
Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and demonstrate punctual, regular attendance.
Other Related Functions
Contribute to continuous improvement of healthcare practices and organizational outcomes.
Participate in unit‑level and organizational committees, peer review, mentoring, and coaching.
Maintain efficient use of supplies and a clean, organized work environment.
Support staff development, nursing research, and performance management initiatives.
Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing education.
Qualifications Education/Training
Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Meets all mandatory, developmental, and competency requirements for Orlando Health and assigned unit/department.
Licensure/Certification
Maintains current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience required, unless approved by AVP level or above.
