Job Description We are a leading healthcare facility dedicated to providing high‑quality care and services to our residents. Our Dietary Services team plays a vital role in ensuring our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals that meet their dietary requirements. We are seeking a Certified Dietary Services Manager who will oversee all aspects of our dietary department and maintain food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Menu Planning: Develop and implement well‑balanced, nutritious, and appetizing menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.

Food Procurement: Manage the purchasing of food and supplies while maintaining budgetary guidelines.

Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise dietary staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Dietary Assessment: Conduct assessments of residents’ dietary requirements and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure their needs are met.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including sanitation, food handling, and infection control.

Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the quality and presentation of meals, addressing any concerns promptly.

Budget Management: Manage the dietary services budget efficiently while delivering high‑quality food and services.

Customer Service: Foster positive relationships with residents and their families, addressing any concerns or special requests.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in dietary services, staying updated on industry best practices.

Qualifications

Minimum required by law, but not less than a high‑school diploma.

Successful completion of an approved Food Management Course.

Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Certified Food Service Manager (CFSM) certification (required).

Previous experience in dietary management in a healthcare or senior living setting.

Strong knowledge of nutrition, special diets, and dietary restrictions.

Excellent leadership and team‑building skills.

Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in computer applications, including menu planning software.

Essential Job Functions

Maintain accurate records for purchasing, expenses, inventory, budgets, staff time charts, and cash register receipts; provide in‑service assign Dietitian reports monthly.

Ensure adequate staffing and conduct yearly recruitment, interviews, and orientation of personnel.

Oversee meal preparation, service, and cleaning of the work area to ensure residents are served and accept meals.

Review and supervise diet changes and assessments, residents’ nutritional needs and habits on a quarterly basis per the care planning.

Work with Consultant Dietitian to develop policy, procedure, and preparation of cycle menus compliant with state and federal regulations.

Assist in planning special activities involving the dietary department.

Maintain records on in‑service and review of meal services.
