Full‑time working week reducing from 37 to 36 hours from 1/4/26 (pro‑rata for part‑time)

Pay scale unchanged.

Legal requirement: hold the relevant permission to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Justify, perform and report ultrasound examinations, providing direct care and a high‑quality diagnostic service to assist in the management of patients within the directorate of Radiology.

Provide diagnostic reports in obstetric, gynaecological, early pregnancy, vascular, general, musculo‑skeletal and small‑parts ultrasound.

Supervise and act as mentor to trainee sonographers ensuring continuity of service.

Legal and Regulatory This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
