BCCP is seeking a part-time Media Teaching Artist to work with middle and high school students during after-school hours. The staff will develop and lead structured, hands-on projects such as short video documentaries, journalism, animation, and photography, centered on youth interests. The goal is to equip students with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to become engaged and informed community members and leaders.**Primary Responsibilities:*** Develop and Facilitate Activities: Create and lead engaging activities based on youth interests including entrepreneurship, financial literacy, community advocacy, education, mental health, etc.* Mentorship and Guidance: Build strong relationships with students, providing mentorship and guidance as they develop leadership skills.* Support Educational Growth: Assist students with schoolwork and integrate these leadership activities into their overall educational development.* Project Documentation: Document student progress and projects to showcase at events like the agency’s annual Artsfest and other youth conferences.* Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training to enhance your skills in youth development and leadership education.* Safety and Supervision: Work with program staff to maintain a safe environment for all participants, assisting with student supervision during arrival, dismissal, and activities.* Perform other duties as assigned.**Qualifications:*** At least 1 year of experience facilitating activities with youth after-school* Bachelor’s degree preferred.* Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for youth development.**Schedule:** Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 2 pm - 5:30 pm (10.5 hours per week)**Work Location****:** 911 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11226**About BCCP:**The Brooklyn College Community Partnership (BCCP) is a youth development program that connects Brooklyn College to Brooklyn neighborhoods through a comprehensive range of after-school and extracurricular initiatives in under-resourced public schools and at our Brooklyn College Arts Lab (BCAL).
