Shifts

Day Shift 06:30 - 19:00 hours

Night Shift 18:30 - 07:00 hours

Requirements Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, a U.S bluite citizen, have a standard high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and must not have felony convictions, moral turpitude, domestic violence convictions or any other serious misdemeanors. All applicants must also undergo an extensive background investigation, credit history check, polygraph examination, medical examination and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Maintain security of residents within an assigned post.

Monitor residents by performing random security inspections, checking well‑being, behavior, integrity of pod windows, lighting, sanitation, equipment, locks and fire and safety hazards. многl>

Document any incident that is not consistent with routine operations.

Provide help and call for assistance for any use‑of‑force incidents in accordance with the department’s use‑of‑force policy.

Supervise resident movement and activities.

Transport residents to locations outside the justice center as required.

Perform resident personal searches and cell searches as needed.

Assist with resident visitation and provide information about residents in accordance with policy.

Ensure security and accountability of all key packs and keys.

Maintain records of all personnel entering and leaving the facility.

Restrict movement to security areas via operation of electronically and manually secured doors.

Secure the outside perimeter of the justice center and prevent contraband flow.

Effectively communicate with other posts or deputies via two‑way radio using proper terminology and ten‑codes.

Assist the public and perform duties during resident visitation.

Help citizens and professionals with authorized information about residents.

Drive emergency vehicles under stressful conditions.

Use physical force to control and arrest law violators.

Require medium to heavy work that involves exerting 100‑150 pounds of force occasionally or 25‑50 pounds frequently or 10‑20 pounds constantly.

Maintain a physical and mental state of fitness and readiness for involvement with dangerous people or animals.

Perform duties that may involve running, člán, climbing stairs, standing for long periods, crouching, squeezing, lifting, pulling, pushing and applying or removing handcuffs. Must have normal hearing and normal or correctable vision.

Carry out additional duties as directed by the Sheriff or designee.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

High school diploma or GED required.

Never convicted of any felony charge.

Not convicted of a sufficient number of misdemeanors to establish a pattern of disregard for the law.

Never convicted of any domestic violence offense.

Must possess strong moral character as determined by the applicant screening panel and background investigation.

Must be willing to submit to being fingerprinted and a search will be made of local, state, and national fingerprint files.

Must be medically fit to exercise the powers or duties of a Deputy Sheriff.

Must successfully complete the job‑related academy.

Must have a valid driver’s license правильно clean record.

Must undergo background investigation, credit history check, polygraph, medical exam and drug screening.

Must complete all DCJS requirements for certification within one year of hire date.

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office software.

Must qualify with firearms and other defensive weapons.
