Primary Care Sales Consultant - Columbia, SC West / Augusta, GA
Join Bayer, a global science company dedicated to improving people’s health. We’re looking for a Primary Care Sales Consultant to manage the launch and uptake of our Cardiorenal and menopause products across the Columbia, SC / Augusta, GA metropolitan areas.
Purpose Accountable for implementing sales strategies for approved Cardiorenal products and driving the launch of an anticipated menopause product. The role focuses on demand generation, clinical education, and sales activities for Primary Care physicians in community settings.
Responsibilities
Build and develop professional relationships with primary care professionals and pharmacy staff within assigned customers.
Drive utilization of approved CV and menopause products and work closely with the Customer Squad to generate pull‑through within local payers and community HCPs.
Leverage expertise in diabetes and menopause markets, competitors, and cross‑functional plans to anticipate and manage business opportunities.
Provide strategic and tactical insights to sales leadership and regional account managers.
Develop and implement customer‑specific business plans and communicate insights to internal stakeholders.
Prioritize coverage to ensure optimal interaction with physicians based on opportunity.
Understand customers’ product and business needs and meet those needs while upholding Bayer’s ethics and compliance standards.
Anticipate barriers to goal attainment and propose responsible solutions.
Handle customer objections effectively and exceed expectations in value delivery.
Share exemplary skills regionally through training roles when called upon.
Leverage emerging technologies to improve performance and strive for continuous proficiency growth.
Adhere to pharmaceutical industry guidelines, regulations, and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes.
Proven track record of consistent high performance in a sales or related role.
Proven ability to develop long‑standing customer relationships.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership and promotion of ethical behavior with compliance to company policies and laws.
Ability to meet customer credentialing and safety requirements.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree.
5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience.
In‑depth knowledge of cardiovascular, diabetes, and/or menopause disease states.
Product launch experience.
Strong analytical and computer capabilities.
Virtual sales experience.
Strong local relationships with HCPs and good understanding of the local market.
Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $120,960.00 – $181,440.00 per year. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. Benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, paid time off, sick leave, and more.
