Reid and Riege, P.C., a mid-sized Connecticut law firm, seeks an experienced employee benefits attorney to join a well-established employee benefits practice, with a tremendous opportunity for long-term growth. A portable book of business is not required, but welcome. Our firm has a flexible work from home policy. Relocation to Connecticut not required. Experience for this role consist of:
Designing, drafting, and maintaining compliance for defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, employee stock ownership plans, employee welfare plans, cafeteria plans and executive compensation plans.
Counselling plan sponsors, fiduciaries and other plan professionals on compliance requirements and fiduciary best practices, including plan governance and administration.
Conducting research and analysis on all applicable laws related to employee benefit plans, including ERISA, IRC, 401(k), Affordable Care Act, COBRA, and HIPAA.
Experience with IRC Section 409A, governmental benefit plans, and/or benefits related issues in corporate transactions is a plus.

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
CT Bar
admission in good standing or ability to become admitted promptly
5+ years
of experience practicing employee benefits, ERISA, or executive compensation law
Strong working knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and the Internal Revenue Code
Experience drafting and reviewing plan documents and related disclosures
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
