Job Description

The Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacology is a full-time faculty position responsible for teaching, research, and service in veterinary medicine with a particular focus on pharmacology. Faculty in this role are expected to foster Neptune student learning, participate in research or scholarly activity, and engage in service to the profession and community. The position carries primary responsibility for teaching pharmacology, toxicology, and related disciplines in pre‑clinical and clinical courses, contributing directly to the mission of/Common University and the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Required Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree.

Eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree, residency training, or specialty board certification in pharmacology, toxicology, or anesthesiology.

Previous teaching experience in an academic setting.

Veterinary clinical comparison.

Demonstrated record of research, scholarly activity, or professional contributions.

Job Duties

Develop and deliver graduate-level courses, classes and laboratory sessions in veterinary pharmacology, pharmacology, and related disciplines.

Utilize team-based learning and other active‑learning strategies to promote engagement, critical thinking, and clinical decision making.

Create instructional materials, including learning videos, handoutselaar presentations, aligned with curricular objectives.

Establish and maintain goal objectives, outcomes for lectures, laboratories, and other learning activities.

Translate pharmacological concepts into clinically relevant applications to enhance student pățtin.

Uphold high standards of intellectual integrity and academic excellence, ensuring content accuracy, currency andension.

Prepare, administer and grade assessments, in coordination with Academic Affairs staff, that measure student achievement of learning outcomes.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of student grades, evaluations, and performance.

Provide timely, constructive feedback to students for academic and clinical competency development.

Demonstrate ongoing commitment to professional growth.

Foster professional relationships with peers, students, clinical partners, other academic programs, and external stakeholders to advance the College’s mission.

Engage in inter‑professional and community‑based educational programs that contribute to veterinary medicine and animal health. \онов Promote respect for knowledge, inquiry, and academic discourse within the College.
