Position Summary The Marketing & Communications Professional leads the development and execution of marketing and communications campaigns by managing a small creative team and actively contributing to content creation. The role produces materials for diverse channels such as print, broadcast, electronic publications, social media, and websites, and implements marketing strategies and budgets in collaboration with Georgia Center Marketing and Communications leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
Experience in a project coordinator, assistant, or junior project management role.
Solid understanding of project management principles and experience managing projects within a project management platform.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time‑management skills.
Proficient in digital marketing channels such as social media, email marketing, and web content.
Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills; effective across multidisciplinary teams.
Self‑starter capable of managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while maintaining quality.
Meticulous attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Physical Demands
Sitting for long hours, working in front of a computer.
Duties & Responsibilities
Proactively monitor project progress, identify and flag potential risks, and communicate status updates to all relevant parties to ensure on‑time delivery.
Manage all project documentation and final assets, ensuring version‑controlled organization.
Introduce improvements and best practices as required.
Plan, develop, and oversee content creation for web, digital platforms, and print.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop accompanying visuals and copy.
Plan, develop, and oversee high‑quality stories illustrating the unit’s impact, in coordination with evaluation efforts.
Partner with the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach communications team for consistency and alignment.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of the Graphic Designer and other production staff.
Provide ongoing supervision, performance reviews, job assignments, and retention strategies.
Develop and maintain an operational calendar for programs and event series; support paid media campaigns and vendor relationships.
Deliver regular reports on marketing performance focusing on ROI and optimization.
Support strategic Georgia Center initiatives as assigned.
