Why Join Our Team? Penn Medicine Princeton Health (PMPH) is seeking a parttime Assistant Nurse Manager to work the day shift within the Cardiac Cath Lab. The Cath Lab has been in operation since 1998 and currently performs over 500 procedures annually, projected to increase. The RN assists cardiologists throughout the catheterization process, caring for patients before and after the procedure.
Scheduling Requirements
5 days a week, 8‑hour day shift.
On call requirement.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for the day‑to‑day managerial functions of the unit, under the direction of the Nurse Manager. Includes interviewing, hiring, counseling employees, documenting disciplinary processes, completing timely performance appraisals, and ensuring completion of monthly staff schedules.
Acts as a role model and mentor for staff in the clinical setting. Creates patient care assignments addressing acuity and skill set; supervises and serves as a resource for staff; routinely evaluates adequacy of care rendered.
Maintains open communication with staff via scheduled shift meetings; builds good relationships with other departments and nursing units; promptly and effectively resolves problems and complaints.
Assists unit educator and nurse manager in planning a formal orientation program for new staff—assigns preceptor, follows orientation goals and checklists, and evaluates orientee achievement.
Responsible for personal development—plans and implements annual goals and objectives in conjunction with Nurse Manager to assure maintenance of clinical competency and managerial knowledge.
Promotes effectiveness of risk management, hospital, and regulatory compliance on the unit—educates, investigates, and enforces policies and procedures.
Collaborates with Nurse Manager and Educator to promote staff development and assure optimal patient outcomes; actively participates in multidisciplinary rounds and ensures staff participation.
Supports customer service and patient/family satisfaction within the department and outside the department within hospital standards; ensures staff compliance with customer service standards.
Cardiac Cath Registered Nurse Is Responsible For
Scrub and circulate in diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and percutaneous coronary interventions.
Administer moderate sedation during the procedure.
Monitor patients' sedation levels during and after the procedure.
Prepare patients for procedures.
Administer medications pre, intra, and post procedure.
Familiar with and administer IV emergency medications and drips.
Assist in diagnosing heart disease of the heart muscle, valves, or coronary arteries.
Perform patient examinations pre and post‑catheterization.
Perform procedures like implantation of temporary pacemakers, balloon angioplasty, and stent placement.
Monitor and document vital signs, including arterial lines and pressures.
Educate patients on medications, healthy lifestyle, and care for the surgical site before discharge.
Utilize the EMR and maintain meticulous documentation of procedures.

What We Require for This Role Education
Registered Nurse in pursuit or with BSN.
Related Work Experience
2 years in a cardiac catheterization lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures (required).
Ability to scrub and circulate in a cardiac catheterization lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic, and rhythm interpretation.
Licensure, Certification or Registration Requirement
Active NJ RN License
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Critical Care Registered Nursing credentials (CCRN) preferred.

Salary Range $51.83 – $72.99 hourly
