As a licensed‑only facilities surveyor, you protect residents’ health and safety by conducting inspections at Texas long‑term care facilities—including licensed‑only nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and day‑activity and health‑services sites—to assess compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Essential Job Functions

Conduct on Laut‑site licensure inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys to determine compliance.

Communicate clearly and accurately with internal and external stakeholders to provide, exchange, or verify information related to compliance.

Conduct exit conferences with facility staff and assist in developing corrective action plans.

Complete inspection or survey reports detailing deficiencies, recommended remedies, and supporting narratives.

Visit facilities to verify correction of previously cited regulatory violations.

Occasionally testify at hearings or court proceedings regarding policy, procedures, findings, or activities.

Initiate referrals as appropriate.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.

Experience in conducting investigations related to quality outcomes.

Experience in quality assurance/compliance and oversight/auditing preferred.

Four‑year degree from accredited college/university preferred.

Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.

Must pass a fingerprint criminal background check.

Must bring I‑9 documentation on first day of work.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $5,035.99–$6,779.24 per month.
