Principal Manufacturing
is seeking a Material Handler to join our team in Broadview, IL. As a leader in fineblanking, conventional stamping and plastic injection molding, Principal Manufacturing sets itself above the competition. The material handler will support the press room by loading, unloading, and moving material within the department or from specified destinations both internally and externally. Responsibilities: Load and unload coils from straighteners using bridge crane and or forklift when necessary. Unband coils after loading and feed lead edge into straightener head. Band and move coils when operation is finished. Reads work orders or follows oral instructions. Examines material for legibility, scans materials, and does the data entry into the Plex system. Keep areas around and inside of straighteners free of debris, removes scrap from work areas before shift change. Counts, weighs and records number of units of materials and attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Assist in coordination of deliveries by removing part containers from presses and moving them to the next operation location and then returns empty containers to press. Communicate with operators so they have required scrap separator for job. Remove separators from machine and return to storage. Retrieve needed separator to press and install at press. Remove unclamped dies from presses and move to inventory location or tool room. Assist other departments when asked to move parts and or scrap parts.
Keep all areas of the plant clean including sweeping and mopping floors. Empty garbage containers when full. Drives truck to destination such as, to outside vendors, customers, and suppliers. Sorting parts as needed.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Education Basic mathematic skills Ability to work with minimum supervision and use time efficiently. Basic computer skills Organizational skills Forklift certification 5 years previous experience material handling in a manufacturing environment Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly and stand/bend for 8 hours Must have valid drivers license and proof of auto insurance Previous work experience with ERP systems Principal Manufacturing is an equal opportunity employer.
