Director of Finance – Nonprofit
Location:
Atlanta, GA (Hybrid) Reports to:
Executive Director
Lead the finance function for a collaborative, values-centered nonprofit with a $20M+ annual budget. As Director of Finance, you’ll oversee accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and strategic planning to ensure fiscal responsibility and support the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all finance and accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and nonprofit standards
Lead annual audits and manage cash flow projections
Present financial insights to leadership and board members
Supervise and mentor the finance team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
7–10+ years of progressive financial management experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role
Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and nonprofit compliance
Advanced Excel and financial systems experience
Excellent communication and board presentation skills
