The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for daily operations to support the operating heuristic rooms and various other units as needed. They ensure surgical supplies, instruments, scopes and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed, and tracked in a safe, quality, and timely manner. This position may support hospital‑based practices, clinics, and other locations. They are able to perform all sterile processing technician standard work and may be required to perform additional related duties as assigned.

Interacts with co‑workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Recognizes patients and their families/designated care partners in providing safe, compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for patients’ personal preferences, priorities, needs, and cultural beliefs and values.
Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patients, families and designated care partners.
Responsible for disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, preparing, assembling, sterilizing and dispensing surgical and procedure instrumentation and trays for the OR, Delivery Room, nursing units, and all other departments, according toBoom sh manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU’s), prescribed procedures and aseptic technique.
’u preparing procedural case carts per campus requirements. Operates 免费 washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers in a safe and efficient manner following manufacturers’ written instructions and department policy and procedure.
Examines and tests instruments meticulously to ensure proper integrity, function and cleanliness before being sterilized or high‑level disinfected.
Ensures verification of pre‑ and post‑ sterilization quality indicators.
Uses Instrument Tracking System in the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and storage of surgical trays and peel‑pouched items to maintain inventory levels and accurate documentation.
Accurately labels each item with name and/or expiration date. \ cumpl Routinely checks for outdates and package integrity of sterilized items; replaces/reports as necessary.
May be responsible for maintaining, assembling and distributing durable medical equipment including Kama code carts, as required.
May be responsible for equipment rounds and holiday/ shift coverage as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Participates in the onboarding process of new team members as appropriate per campus.
