Job Title APRN/Instructor I – Genetics & Clinical Research (Finance)

About the Position The Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics‑Pediatric Hospital Medicine, University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, Tampa is seeking a hospital‑based Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant to provide inpatient care and may involve teaching students and residents. This position is assigned overnight shifts, including weekend coverage, located at St. Joseph's Children’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida.

Responsibilities

Provide direct medical care to patients in a hospital setting, including diagnosis, treatment, operation, or prescription for any human disease, pain, injury, deformity, or other physical or mental condition.

Provide clinical teaching experience for students or residents.

Document all orders, procedures, and progress notes into the patient’s medical record.

Participate in Quality Assurance/Improvement projects.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Assist in academic duties such as teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities, including academic advising.

Represent the university, college/school, or department as required.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certified according to Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, OR graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certified according to Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64.

Master’s or Medical degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization OR equivalent qualifications based on professional experience.
