Greenville, NC Position Overview: A hospital in Greenville, North Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide inpatient locum tenens coverage. This role supports a high-acuity neurosurgery team at a Level I Trauma Center. Providers are required to arrive the day before their first scheduled shift for orientation. Coverage Needed: Day Shift (Inpatient APP): Start: June 1, 2026

Schedule: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM

Duration: Ongoing during recruitment

Night Shift (Inpatient APP): Start: September 2026

Schedule: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM

Position Details: Inpatient only

Level I Trauma Center

Established team of 9 Neurosurgeons and 9 APPs

24/7 inpatient support

Responsibilities: Perform admissions and discharges

Conduct neurosurgery consultations

Provide OR first assist support (optional)

Participate in patient management and care coordination

Occasional nighttime discharges (not typical but possible)

Facility Details: 974-bed tertiary care hospital

Accredited by The Joint Commission (JCAHO)

Requirements: Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Neurosurgery or relevant inpatient experience preferred

BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association required)
