Clinical Role
Join a well-established cancer center providing comprehensive hematology and oncology care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NP seeking a balanced role with clinic, rounding, and light call responsibilities. Coverage Dates: ASAP - end of September Position Highlights: Free-standing cancer center with strong physician and APP support Balanced mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient rounding Manage both benign hematology and malignant oncology cases Collaborative care model with dedicated oncology nursing staff Schedule & Coverage
Outpatient clinic + inpatient rounding responsibilities Call schedule: Tuesday: 4:30 PM - 8:00 AM Friday 4:30 PM - Monday 8:00 AM (includes weekend rounding) Weekend responsibilities: On-site inpatient rounding (Saturday & Sunday) Call rotation: Approximately every 5-6 weeks Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Patient population: Adult & geriatric Case mix: 65% benign hematology 35% malignant oncology Patient Volume: Outpatient: 15 patients per day Inpatient (rounding/call): 20 patients per day Responsibilities Include: Management of bone marrow transplant patients Blood bank coordination Ordering labs, imaging, and treatments Prescribing medications Chemotherapy administered by oncology nursing staff Support & Technology: 8 physicians and 4 APPs in the practice EMR: Epic Requirements
