Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated
Paraprofessional
to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide direct support to students with special needs, assisting them with academic, behavioral, and personal care tasks under the supervision of certified teachers and support staff. This role is essential in helping students achieve their educational goals and promoting their independence in the classroom and beyond. Duties Provide
direct support
to students in the classroom by assisting with academic tasks and reinforcing lesson plans. Support students with
activities of daily living (ADLs) , including feeding, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance as needed. Implement
individualized education plans (IEPs)
and behavior management strategies under the supervision of educational staff. Foster social and communication skills by encouraging
positive peer interactions
and guiding appropriate behaviors. Monitor and document
student progress , behaviors, and any incidents, ensuring accurate and confidential records. Assist with classroom setup, organization, and preparation of learning materials. Ensure a
safe and supportive environment
by following school protocols and safety procedures. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to promote student success. Provide
emotional support
and encouragement, promoting confidence and self-esteem. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent
required; completion of a
paraprofessional certification program
or associate’s degree preferred. Previous experience working with
children or students with special needs
is highly desirable. Familiarity with
IEPs
and behavior intervention techniques. Knowledge of
documentation practices
and ability to maintain accurate records. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to student support. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Must pass a
background check
and meet local/state certification requirements. Join us
