IT Support Specialist

to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Microsoft 365 technical stack alongside premise Windows desktop support and possess a keen sense of urgency coupled with exceptional customer service skills. This role is crucial in ensuring our users receive timely and effective technical support to maintain high productivity levels. On-site Oak Brook, IL Compensation and Benefits - $65,000-$70,000 plus full suite of benefits (health, dental, vision, 401K, etc) Reports To: Vice President, Technology Department: Information Technology Status: Full-Time/Exempt Responsibilities: Technical Support: Provide first-line support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Resolve technical issues efficiently and escalate more complex problems to higher-level support when necessary. Customer Service: Deliver high-quality customer service by responding to support tickets promptly, maintaining a professional demeanor, and ensuring user satisfaction. Follow up on unresolved issues to ensure complete resolution. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. Utilize remote desktop tools to assist users in various locations. User Training: Conduct training sessions and create documentation to help users understand and effectively utilize Microsoft 365 tools and features. Provide ongoing support and guidance to improve user proficiency. System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks such as software updates, system backups, and network troubleshooting. Ensure all systems are secure and running optimally. Project Support: Assist in IT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and deployments. Collaborate with the IT team to implement new technologies and improve existing systems. Asset Management: Manage IT inventory, including hardware and software assets. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and updated. Incident Management: Log all support incidents and service requests accurately. Prioritize and manage multiple open cases at one time. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in IT processes and suggest practical solutions. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree, technology related. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of related IT/Development work experience highly preferred in an IT support role, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft 365 administration alongside centralized support ticket management and support. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and administration. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Office suite. Experience with Active Directory and Azure AD. Familiarity with network protocols and hardware. Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices. Onboarding and offboarding End User Accounts (Identity). Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of organization and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Ability to handle high-pressure situations with patience and professionalism. Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Work Hours: Full-time position with occasional after-hours work for system maintenance or emergency support.
