Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain and Storage 7 PTO days 5 Paid Sick Leave Days 6 Paid Holidays Overview: We are hiring a highly strategic and execution-oriented Director of Linehaul Network Planning to lead the planning, optimization, and cost management of our middle-mile transportation network across the United States. This role is responsible for ensuring that packages are moved efficiently and on time between our distribution hubs, enabling seamless handoff to our last-mile delivery operations. More About This Role: Responsible for nationwide linehaul route planning, capacity cost control, trunk and branch transportation resource allocation, and route scheduling across the U.S. Ideally, this candidate should come from a peer logistics or transportation company and possess deep knowledge of market rates and capacity resources within the U.S. trucking industry. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on capabilities in network and route planning, with a proven ability to execute efficient, time-sensitive transportation solutions while optimizing cost. The primary focus is on ground (truck) transportation network design; experience with air freight is a plus but not required. Responsibilities: Design and optimize the nationwide linehaul (middle-mile) network to facilitate efficient package transfers between company-operated warehouses and distribution centers. Build the linehaul network from the ground up, establishing scalable infrastructure, routing logic, and operational standards to support rapid business growth. Own the routing strategy, truck utilization, and third-party coordination to ensure timely parcel movement that aligns with last-mile delivery timelines. Maintain rigorous control over transportation costs by continuously optimizing service-level performance and budget efficiency. Manage the use of both dedicated truck couriers and freight carriers, selecting the most reliable and cost-effective solution for each lane. Develop flexible routing and scheduling strategies based on shipment volume, market dynamics, and service commitments. Monitor operational metrics across all transportation lanes, proactively identifying and resolving network bottlenecks or performance issues. Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with regional and national trucking providers to ensure long-term reliability and capacity access. Stay highly informed on U.S. trucking market trends, including price fluctuations, capacity constraints, seasonal surges, and regional rate differences. Collaborate closely with last-mile operations, warehouse leadership, and procurement to ensure linehaul planning supports end-to-end service excellence. Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of transportation planners and dispatch coordinators. Requirements: Business-level proficiency in English and Mandarin is highly preferred due to the nature of the role involving frequent communication with Mandarin-speaking clients or partners. 5+ years of experience in transportation network planning, logistics, or supply chain operations, including 3+ years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of the U.S. trucking and freight carrier markets, including pricing, availability, and service reliability. Proven track record in building efficient, scalable middle-mile routing networks. Deep understanding of time-sensitive operations in a last-mile delivery environment. Experience working with or hiring from top logistics companies (e.g., FedEx, UPS, Amazon, XPO, JB Hunt, etc.) is preferred. Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and execution skills. Proficient in transportation management systems (TMS), route optimization tools, and cost modeling. Seniority level
