A well-established outpatient clinic in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Primary Care Physician for ongoing locum tenens coverage beginning in August 2025. The role is 100% outpatient with no call responsibilities and a flexible schedule that includes standard and late-day shifts. While not required, physicians with experience in HIV or infectious disease will be highly prioritized. The site uses EPIC EMR and maintains a manageable daily patient load with a focus on continuity of care. Assignment Highlights
* Outpatient-only clinic (no hospital coverage) * Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM-5:00 PM or 10:00 AM-7:00 PM) * No call, no weekends * Average census: 18-21+ patients/day * EMR: EPIC * Orientation hours are billable * HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission-certified agency * Prepaid travel and lodging for non-local providers * Credentialing completed within 30 days * Pay ranks in the top 15% of all primary care locum tenens roles in California
Skills & Experience
* 2+ years of primary care experience required * Experience with HIV and/or infectious disease patients strongly preferred * Comfortable seeing adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting * Strong documentation skills in EPIC
Credentialing & Onboarding
* Credentialing completed in 30 days or less * Full credentialing support provided by HPA Healthcare * Must have active CA medical license at time of submission * Two required facility-specific forms must be submitted with presentation
