IT Healthcare Consultant - Project Manager Location:
Columbia, SC Duration:
12 Months Pay Rate:
$85-$90 per hour
Candidate must be a CURRENT South Carolina resident. No relocation allowed.
Project Overview:
This role supports a major IT modernization project focused on replacing the State's legacy Medicaid Eligibility Determination System and related member management applications. The new solution will utilize the IBM Curam social program management platform in a multi-tier environment, requiring collaboration with multiple vendors and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as the technical resource supporting operations and maintenance for the IBM Curam platform. Guide project teams and vendors on IBM Curam best practices to meet business objectives. Review and approve proposed solutions and designs using IBM Curam software. Perform data mapping and gap analysis to assess software capabilities. Ensure smooth transition from implementation to operations, including knowledge transfer. Support development leads in issue resolution within the IBM Curam framework. Coordinate work between system integrators, vendors, and legacy teams. Participate in requirements gathering, technical design, and integration activities. Support quality assurance and timely delivery of project milestones. Prepare project status reports and communicate risks/issues to leadership. Translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Assist in the analysis of IBM Curam software updates/releases. Required Skills:
Minimum 3 years of technical experience with IBM Curam framework (including HCR and CGIS). Strong experience in profiling and troubleshooting both IBM Curam OOTB and custom code. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a technical project team. Preferred Skills:
Vendor management experience. Curam certification. Experience in waterfall, agile, and hybrid delivery models. Knowledge of healthcare insurance processes. Medicaid operations or MMIS experience. Experience working in public sector or academic environments. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
