HavocAI
About Us:
HavocAI is an innovative defense technology company making scalable maritime autonomy a reality. We are pioneering an end-to-end solution for planning, tasking and control of uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). As we continue to quickly grow, we are looking for motivated individuals that are inspired to work within an extremely energetic, creative, and innovative team that is passionate about maritime robotics and exploring the open ocean. We work in a highly dynamic environment where collaboration and idea sharing are a way of life.
About the Role:
We're looking for a Quality Inspector who's obsessed with detail, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes personal ownership over the little things that make big missions succeed. You'll play a critical role in ensuring every component, system, and assembly meets our rigorous quality standards—because in our work, precision isn't optional.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed inspections on components, assemblies, and finished systems—both in-process and final stage
Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and specifications with high precision
Use inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, and custom gauges) to verify conformance to tight tolerances
Document inspection results clearly and accurately, flag non-conformances, and support root cause analysis
Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and test teams to resolve issues and improve build quality
Serve as the central point of contact for supplier corrective actions, coordinating responses and driving timely resolution
Champion quality at all levels—proactively suggesting process or design improvements when something doesn't feel right
Maintain a clean, organized, and secure inspection area, consistent with both safety and mission needs
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across quality systems, documentation, and tooling
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a mechanical inspection, manufacturing, or defense/aerospace setting
Strong proficiency with dimensional inspection tools and methods
Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100)
Meticulous attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and a systems mindset
A bias toward action, ownership, and a willingness to solve small problems before they become big ones
Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Skills:
Experience with robotics, autonomy, or complex electromechanical assemblies
Background in Department of Defense manufacturing or supplier quality
Comfort working in early-stage, high-velocity environments
Location:
This position will sit in Rumford, RI
