Michaels Sr Data Engineers develop technologies that change how our customers connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. We are currently looking for Sr Data Engineers who have a passion for designing systems that can collect and integrate data from various sources and create data sets that can be messaged into meaningful insights. In this position you will help drive our data architecture across datasets. You will work with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and business partners to implement new data pipelines that feed into our systems. You will work with teams to design architectures, breaking down tasks, and reviewing code.

The ideal candidate exudes analytical acumen, possesses strong data engineering skills, has a high degree of customer-obsession, and has a track record for delivering results.

You will work on projects critical to Michaels needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need Engineers who are versatile, display leadership qualities and are enthusiastic to take on new challenges to help move Michaels Technology forward.

Major Activities

Design, develop, and implement integration solutions using Tibco technologies, including Tibco BusinessWorks, Tibco EMS, and Tibco Administrator. Create and maintain documentation of integration solutions, including technical specifications, design documents, and user manuals. Collaborate with other developers, architects, and business analysts to gather requirements and design integration solutions that meet business needs. Test, debug, and troubleshoot integration solutions to ensure they meet quality standards and function correctly. Provide technical support for production issues related to integration solutions. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers to ensure code quality and best practices are followed. Stay up-to-date with the latest Tibco technologies and best practices. Minimum Education

Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

Experience building and maintaining data pipelines (e.g. Airflow, Prefect, Luigi, Kafka) Fluency in SQL, Python, Scala Experience with project build with CI/CD pipelines through Jenkins Experience with Linux, Docker, and Cloud technologies and data systems architecture Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

5+ years hand on software development experience, preferable in an industry data-oriented role (Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, etc.) Preferred Expirience

8+ years of experience in developing integration solutions using Tibco technologies. Strong experience in Tibco BusinessWorks, Tibco EMS, and Tibco Administrator. Experience with XML, XSLT, Java, and web services (SOAP and REST). Excellent troubleshooting skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Other
