Position Description:
The Junior Database Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems that support the organization's applications and processes.
Minimum/General Experience:
3 years of experience developing and maintaining databases
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
Strong experience with performing database development
Strong knowledge and experience with database design principles
Strong experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Access, SharePoint)
Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL)
Experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
Experience with Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML)
Experience with database optimization and maintenance
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail skills
Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships
Ability to collaborate and problem-solve in a team environment
General Physical Requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on the location of the assignment .
Assignment Location - LCSRON TWO, Naval Station Mayport, Florida 32228
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Typing, communicating, repetitive motions.
Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting.
Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.
Security : Must have an active Secret security clearance to be considered; Ability to maintain a DoD Clearance

Consists of a review of up to but not limited to:
Covers 10 year period and in some instances lifetime events
OPM Security Investigations Index (SII)
DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII)
National Agency Check (NAC) records
FBI name check

A check of local law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction over the areas where the applicant has lived, worked, or attended school
Education check- Attendance and Degrees
Employment verification -may include interviews of supervisors and/or co-workers
Corroboration of unemployment
May include reference interviews
May include interviews of the individual, former spouse (s)
Confirmation of all residences
Verification of public record information
Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:
Designs and creates database schemas, tables, and views to support reports and metrics
Designs maintenance databases and process flows
Supports historical database data cleanup
Writes and optimizes complex SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data effectively
Monitors and maintains database performance and implements tuning strategies to enhance efficiency
Ensures data integrity and security by implementing appropriate access controls and backup procedures
Collaborates with developers to integrate database solutions into existing systems
Conducts database testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues promptly
Develops and maintains documentation for database architecture, processes, and procedures
Coordinates with teams to manage database-related projects and schedules effectively
Stays up to date with the latest database technologies and trends to recommend improvements
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual projected pay range for this position is $65,473.00 - $112,649.00 with consideration being given to various factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, job responsibilities, and geographic location.
