The Wellness Program Advocate plays a vital role in promoting a culture of health and well-being within the organization. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating wellness initiatives that support physical, mental, and emotional health for employees or community members.
This position will report directly to the Assoc. Dir., Population Health/designated member of the Senior Leadership team. This role will be mainly remote with some travel as needed.
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging wellness programs, workshops, and Conduct health risk assessments and wellness Provide one-on-one wellness coaching and referrals to appropriate Collaborate with HR, benefits, and clinical teams to align wellness Track participation and outcomes to evaluate program Promote wellness initiatives through internal communications and Stay current on best practices in health promotion and behavior Approve leave requests for direct reports and also ensure appropriate team coverage Facilitate effective teamwork and maintain positive work environment Fields question to Program Executive leads as appropriate Serve as key support for periodic contract audit Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and Program Advisors to promote compliance with HR policies Co-Lead staff development planning Conduct Training for team as needed Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in public health, Health Promotion, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field Minimum 2 -3 years of experience in wellness program development, implementation, and Certification in wellness coaching or health education (e.g., CHES, Wellcoaches, ACSM Certified Wellness Coach). Strong data analysis skills and experience with program metrics and Familiarity with wellness technologies and digital health Excellent interpersonal and communication Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary Experience with motivational interviewing or behavior change models is a Bilingual or multilingual abilities are Experience with digital wellness platforms or mobile health apps. Knowledge of motivational interviewing or behavior change models. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus Evidence of essential leadership, communication, education, and counseling skills Proficiency in communication technologies (especially with video conferencing) Highly organized with the ability to keep accurate notes and records Experience with health IT systems and reports is desirable Demonstrated skills in using Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel) Expansive knowledge about leveraging community resources to better coordinate patient care Core values consistent with a patient- and family-centered approach to care Demonstrates professional, appropriate, effective, and tactful communication skills, including written, verbal and nonverbal Demonstrates a positive attitude and respectful, professional customer service Acknowledges patient's rights on confidentiality issues maintains patient confidentiality at all times and follows HIPAA guidelines and regulations Commitment to continuous quality improvement Flexibility and ability to adapt to the changing healthcare environment and legislation In addition to the above qualifications the successful incumbent is expected to consistently demonstrate:
Support of the mission and values of Medicalincs; and serve as a role model to direct report(s) Commitment to continuous quality improvement working with co-workers in a team oriented collaborative governance model. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the changing healthcare environment and legislation.
Moderate degree of mental/visual stress involved. Concentrated periods of time spent using PC keyboard and viewing monitor. Will work some weekends, evenings or early hours to accommodate member needs.
