POSITION SUMMARY:

The Integration Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-wide integration strategies and solutions that connect diverse systems, applications, data sources, and increasingly, autonomous agents. This role requires a seasoned professional who can bridge the gap between traditional integration patterns and emerging Agentic Architecture paradigms, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable integration architectures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with various integration platforms, API management, event-driven architectures, modern cloud-native integration patterns, and the evolving landscape of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and independent agent integrations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Responsibilities: Design and implement comprehensive integration architectures that support business objectives and technical requirements Lead the development of integration standards, patterns, and best practices across the enterprise Architect end-to-end solutions utilizing API-led connectivity, event-driven patterns, and microservices architectures Design and implement Agentic Architecture solutions that enable autonomous agents to collaborate and integrate effectively Develop strategies for Model Context Protocol (MCP) adoption and standardization across agent-based systems Create frameworks for independent agent integration, ensuring interoperability and scalability Evaluate and recommend integration platforms, tools, and technologies based on business needs and technical requirements Create and maintain integration roadmaps aligned with enterprise architecture strategy Design reusable integration components, frameworks, and accelerators to improve delivery efficiency Ensure integration solutions meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirements Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture teams to align integration strategies with overall IT architecture Technical Leadership:

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to integration engineers and development teams Lead the design and implementation of agent communication protocols and coordination mechanisms Establish best practices for agent lifecycle management, versioning, and deployment Review and approve integration designs, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and standards Lead proof-of-concepts and technology evaluations for new integration capabilities Define and implement governance processes for API lifecycle management and integration development Establish monitoring, alerting, and operational excellence standards for integration solutions Develop strategies for agent observability, debugging, and performance optimization Stakeholder Management:

Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into integration solutions Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Prepare and present integration strategies and recommendations to senior leadership Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, infrastructure, and application development Other Responsibilities:

Stay current with emerging integration technologies, trends, and best practices Research and evaluate new agent frameworks, MCP implementations, and multi-agent system patterns Contribute to open-source MCP initiatives and agent interoperability standards Participate in vendor evaluations and relationship management Contribute to organizational change management and adoption of new integration capabilities Develop training materials and conduct workshops on Agentic Architecture principles Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Technical Skills:

• Expert knowledge of enterprise integration patterns (EIP) and service-oriented architecture (SOA)

• Strong experience with one or more integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, IBM Integration Bus, Apache Camel, Azure Integration Services, AWS Integration Services)

• Proficiency in API design, development, and management using REST, GraphQL, and SOAP protocols

• Experience with Agentic Architecture principles and autonomous agent integration patterns

• Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and frameworks for AI agent interoperability

• Understanding of agent orchestration, coordination, and communication patterns

• Experience with event streaming platforms and message queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace, AWS SQS/SNS)

• Knowledge of cloud-native integration patterns and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Understanding of data integration patterns including ETL/ELT, CDC, and real-time synchronization

• Familiarity with API gateway technologies and API management platforms

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for integration development

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

• 7+ years of experience in software development and system integration

• 5+ years of experience in integration architecture and design

• 3+ years of experience with enterprise integration platforms

• Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration services

• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field

• Professional certifications in integration platforms (MuleSoft, IBM, Oracle, etc.)

• Experience with AI/ML integration patterns and LLM-based agent architectures

• Familiarity with agent frameworks and tools (LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, etc.)

• Knowledge of semantic layer design and knowledge graph integration

• TOGAF or other enterprise architecture certification

• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, etc.)

• Knowledge of security protocols and standards (OAuth, SAML, JWT)

• Understanding of agent security patterns and sandboxing techniques
