Job Responsibilities
HR Specialist - Recruiting assists with the College's recruiting efforts and onboarding for full-time and part-time employees. Serves as HR Receptionist. Completes, distributes, and follows up on paperwork, ensuring needed information is received and communicated. Ensures employee information is complete and filed electronically in an accurate and timely manner. Assists with EEO/recruiting reporting as needed.
Coordinates the onboarding process for full-time employees. Sends new hire offer letters/emails. Ensures required paperwork and appropriate background checks are received and complete, including entering into eVerify, entering in eReview, obtaining a signed position description, and filing required audit paperwork in Teams. Coordinates with other HR staff to ensure new hires are entered into Colleague. Coordinates new hires' first-day experience, including coordinating with hiring managers and IT, collecting I-9s, and welcoming new hires to SCC.
Assists with SCC recruiting processes for all positions. Refers qualified candidates to hiring managers for all open positions. Assists with posting positions, scheduling and interviews as needed.
Assists with the temporary employment process, including onboarding and assisting with I-9 documentation and other required paperwork. Assists with the break-in-service process for temporary employees and related reporting, to include determining the employees who need a break-in-service and communicating with supervisors and employees to ensure the process is completed at the appropriate time.
Serves as HR receptionist. Welcomes guests and directs them to the appropriate person or area. Directs phone calls and handles office correspondence as needed. Monitors the HR email and resolves emails or refers to the appropriate person as needed. Electronically files items as needed in eTrieve. Assists in budgeting for the HR division. Submits requisitions as needed. Orders items with P-card and ensures the required information is documented for the monthly reconciliation.
Tracks receipt of transcripts and ensures proper documentation. Ensures transcripts are forwarded to the proper channel for credentialing. Assists with maintaining the College Catalog. Minimum and Additional Requirements
High School diploma and clerical or administrative experience. Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related area; minimum of 3 years of experience working in Human Resources; customer service experience
Additional Comments
Occasional nights and evening hours may be required for scheduled events. May need to travel to multiple campuses occasionally.
