Job Responsibilities The IT Systems Architect is responsible for designing and implementing complex data management systems and enterprise IT architectures. This role ensures that data solutions align with business objectives while optimizing performance, security, scalability, and reliability across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. The position integrates expertise in data engineering, systems architecture, and enterprise IT strategy to support critical infrastructure and business intelligence needs. Enterprise Data Management Solution & Architecture Design and implement integrated data management solutions, including data warehouses, and database management systems. Evaluate and select database models (SQL, NoSQL, graph, object, etc.) and ensure optimal data storage, retrieval, and integrity. Systems & Infrastructure Engineering
Architect and in some case re-architect scalable, high-availability IT infrastructures, including virtualized, cloud, and on-premises environments. Develop strategies for data integration with enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and distributed systems for new and existing systems. Manage and optimize server configurations, virtualization, and network storage solutions. Technology Strategy & Innovation
Develop long-term strategic roadmaps for data platforms, enterprise architecture, and cybersecurity initiatives. Design and implement scalable and efficient data architectures that support business needs. Develop data models and structures that enhance integration, consistency, and accessibility across systems. Optimize Planning and Design of New Data Systems

Project Management
Supervise the IT System Engineer in leading the design of enterprise-level IT and data projects, ensuring timely execution and outcomes. Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors, to deliver integrated solutions. Provide mentorship and leadership to the IT Systems Engineer, guiding best practices in data engineering and systems architecture.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as Ellucian Colleague. Extensive experience in enterprise data management, systems engineering, and IT architecture roles. Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Familiarity with AI/ML applications in data analysis and predictive modeling. Additional certifications, such as CISSP, TOGAF, or ITIL.
