Harrison Gray Search has partnered with a prominent real estate development firm to identify an accomplished Project Manager with architecture experience for their growing Cleveland-based team. This is a unique opportunity for a design-forward and detail-oriented professional to play a key role in shaping a landmark multifamily residential community, including an 800-unit project and future developments.
Position: Project Manager
Multifamily Development
Location :Cleveland, Ohio
Position Type :Full-Time
Reports To :Director of Development / Managing Partner
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the architectural design process for multifamily developments, collaborating with ownership, consultants, and contractors.
Develop and review conceptual, schematic, and construction documents.
Ensure design consistency, technical accuracy, and compliance with building codes, zoning, and accessibility standards (FHA, ADA, Fair Housing).
Coordinate input from civil, structural, MEP, and landscape consultants.
Support entitlement and permitting processes; prepare presentations for planning boards and neighborhood meetings.
Perform quality control reviews of drawings, specifications, and RFIs.
Collaborate with construction and project management teams to address design clarifications, value engineering, and field coordination.
Assist in selecting building materials, finishes, and systems for durability, cost, and sustainability.
Maintain awareness of budget constraints and construction schedules.
Provide design input and support throughout construction administration, including site visits and punch lists.
Architectural Construction Administration Responsibilities
Serve as the primary architectural liaison during construction to ensure design intent is upheld.
Conduct regular site visits, identify discrepancies, and address construction-related questions.
Review and respond to submittals, RFIs, ASIs, and change orders.
Coordinate with the general contractor and trades to resolve field issues.
Ensure compliance with architectural drawings, specifications, and codes during construction.
Lead and document punch list inspections, follow-up corrections, and close-out procedures.
Participate in project meetings and provide expert input on design interpretations and construction feasibility.
Maintain accurate documentation of site conditions, progress photos, and written reports.
Qualifications
Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited institution.
Licensed Architect in the State of Ohio (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
7+ years of progressive architecture experience, with at least 4 years focused on multi-family residential projects.
Expertise in wood-frame podium construction, Type III and V buildings, and knowledge of Ohio building codes.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management tools.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, building materials, and industry best practices.
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Experience collaborating with developers, consultants, and municipalities.
