Public Works Gis Analyst
Salary: $5,904.35 - $7,535.63 Monthly Location: Bend, OR Job Type: Regular, full time, full benefits About The Department: The Deschutes County Road Department is responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of the County road system, consisting of approximately 900 miles of roadway. About The Job: Within this GIS forward position, you will have the opportunity to support the Deschutes County Road and Surveying staff. ArcGIS and related software will be utilized to help the department inventory assets, map road and survey information and create applications to support staff and the public. This position will collaborate with the rest of the GIS and IT staff throughout the county. The work is primarily performed during weekdays in the office, but some work may be performed in the field. You will also be provided with training opportunities to keep your skills up to date. Key Responsibilities: Employ ArcGIS Pro integrations to access, create, maintain, and share ArcGIS Online or Enterprise content, producing a comprehensive line of solutions within this environment. Generate cartographic products from ArcGIS Pro in various output formats. Provide GIS related training and technical assistance to Road Department staff and create training resources. What You Will Bring: Knowledge of or experience with: Using GIS - ESRI suite of software programs, including Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and related applications. Employing web and desktop GIS platforms to create digital and paper maps, cartographic products, or other related outputs. Working knowledge of scripting and modeling techniques related to GIS data management. Skill in: Advanced principles in geographic mapping, cartography, and analysis. Reading, analyzing, compiling, and manipulating complex geographic information in various data formats and projections. Python, CAD, GeoJson, KML, WMS, SQL and LaserFiche. Preferred Qualifications: Journey level knowledge and skill working with GIS. Necessary Special Requirements: Driving is a requirement for this position. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date. The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable driver's license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substances (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). Must have dependable transportation and be able and willing to drive throughout Deschutes County in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
