Description
The In Process Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all
machined parts
meet the required specifications and quality standards during the manufacturing process. This role involves conducting visual and dimensional inspections, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with the production team to promptly address any quality issues.
Key Responsibilities Perform in-process inspections of machined parts using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Conduct visual inspections to identify surface defects, burrs, and other imperfections. Verify that parts meet engineering drawings and specifications. Documentation :
Accurately document inspection results and maintain detailed records of inspections performed. Complete and maintain inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and other quality documentation. Collaboration :
Work closely with machinists and production supervisors to communicate inspection results and address any quality issues. Provide feedback to the production team to improve manufacturing processes and product quality. Quality Assurance :
Ensure compliance with company quality standards and industry regulations. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for non-conforming parts. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Equipment Maintenance :
Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Report any equipment malfunctions or calibration issues to the appropriate personnel. Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Experience : Minimum of 5 - 6 years of experience in quality inspection with aerospace quality inspection techniques. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems is a plus. Advanced blueprint understanding and GD&T knowledge. Skills : Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and machining processes. Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects and deviations from specifications. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software.
