About the Role The Lead Quality Inspector is responsible for overseeing inspection processes in a machine shop or manufacturing environment to ensure precision parts and components meet strict quality standards. This role involves applying advanced quality control techniques, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), utilizing precision measurement tools, and maintaining detailed inspection documentation. It is ideal for candidates experienced in quality assurance, manufacturing inspection, AS9100 standards, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed inspections of machined parts and components to verify compliance with quality standards and tolerances using precision measuring tools. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to assess product conformance to engineering designs. Maintain accurate inspection records, documentation, and reports of non-conformances for corrective action. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement solutions. Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality assurance processes. Manage inspection schedules and tasks independently while proactively identifying potential quality concerns. Qualifications

Proven experience as a quality inspector in a machine shop or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Hands-on experience working in compliance with AS9100 standards in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively. Desired Qualifications

Certification or formal training in quality inspection, quality control, or a related field. Experience with statistical process control (SPC) methods and tools. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
